Senior Project Controls Data & Reporting Analyst

Purpose of the Role

Data Modelling and Reporting

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data models, including fact and dimension structures, for Power BI reporting.
• Own dashboard creation from requirements definition through deployment and continuous improvement.
• Ensure reporting outputs meet stakeholder needs across project cost, schedule, risk, change, and performance measurement.

Project Controls Expertise

• Apply project controls principles covering cost control, schedule management, risk analysis, and Earned Value Management.
• Interpret project performance data and support senior stakeholders in decision-making.
• Integrate cost, schedule, risk, change, scope, and quality data into a complete picture of project health.

Reporting Oversight

• Lead preparation and assurance of periodic and ad-hoc reports for accuracy, consistency, and analytical quality.
• Drive production of the monthly project review pack and present information to senior leadership when required.
• Establish reporting standards, templates, and governance processes across the project.

Team Management

• Manage, mentor, and support less-senior team members and oversee their workloads.
• Allocate tasks, provide technical guidance, and develop capability in Power BI, data modelling, and project controls reporting.
• Foster continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build relationships with project stakeholders, understand their information needs, and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Work across the project environment to ensure timely and accurate data flow into reporting systems.
• Improve data structures, reporting processes, automation opportunities, and dashboard design.

Required Experience

• Demonstrable project controls experience in the construction or infrastructure sector is essential.
• Expertise in Power BI dashboard development, dataset design, star-schema modelling, and relationship management is required.
• Experience reporting on cost, schedule, risk, change, and Earned Value Management metrics is required.
• Advanced Power Query, DAX, data transformation, and Advanced Excel capability is required.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members and directing their workload is required.
• Experience delivering reporting solutions for large, complex programmes or portfolios is required.
• Experience establishing reporting processes, frameworks, or governance within project controls is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate is required.

Selection and Clearance

• A pre-screening technical test is required during recruitment.
• Security clearance may be required, and employment may depend on obtaining the relevant level.
• If required, UK security vetting may request proof of five or more years of UK residency.
