Overview

  • Develop project budgets in collaboration with project managers and leadership.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, and profitability on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform project cost forecasting, variance analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Set up and maintain project accounts in the accounting system.
  • Ensure correct revenue recognition based on project milestones, completion percentages, or contracts (IFRS 15 if applicable).
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze project performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve project financial outcomes.
  • Support project audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure projects comply with internal financial policies and external contractual requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all project-related financial transactions.
  • Review and approve project-related invoices, purchase orders, and timesheets.
  • Develop and implement financial plans to achieve finance department objectives.
  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics, ensuring alignment with department and corporate goals.
  • Supervise and support team members, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for professional development within the team.
  • Plan, schedule, coach, and manage staff to promote efficiency in completing their job responsibilities.
  • Liaise with the leadership team to improve financial processes.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to align financial data with project progress.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals and pricing strategies from a financial perspective.
  • Follow governance policies and procedures within their roles.
  • Collect and analyse data to prepare detailed reports on team performance and project status for senior management review.
  • Engage in training to improve management and technical skills, supporting team performance and MHAO’s objectives.
  • Coordinate change activities within teams, ensuring clear communication and seamless implementation.
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform any other tasks and duties assigned from time to time.
