Role overview
This Engineering Manager role leads the Embedded team, one of Production Engineering's two teams.
The team works across critical production challenges involving data protection, safer software changes, reliability, observability, and overload resilience.
Responsibilities
- Lead a technically strong team of engineers working across several high-priority production challenges.
- Build trust with engineering leaders and help engineers navigate varied technical and organizational environments.
- Stay close enough to the work to challenge assumptions and shape technical decisions.
- Define team engagements, success measures, operating practices, and the scope of the developing function.
- Create psychological safety, provide direct coaching, and help senior engineers grow their influence.
- Focus the team on high-impact problems and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
- Scale the Embedded model while preserving technical standards, coaching quality, and close partnerships.
- Convert engagement lessons into reusable engineering practices, patterns, and capabilities.
- Develop senior engineers and engagement leads into future technical leaders.
Experience requirements
- Lead highly experienced software engineers and technical leads through complex or ambiguous work.
