About Magnet Forensics
Magnet Forensics develops digital investigative software that acquires, analyzes, and shares evidence from computers, smartphones, tablets, and IoT-related devices.
Its customers include law enforcement agencies, government labs, and enterprises operating under strict security policies.
Role Overview
Magnet One is the connective platform layer across the product portfolio.
The platform team owns foundations for organization structure, identity, access, purchasing, working access, and internal administration.
The role provides end-to-end ownership and direction for a complex platform domain serving larger and more structurally complex customers.
Platform Areas
- Own account-level administration, including organization structures, user lifecycle, roles, permissions, entitlements, delegated administration, and audit trails.
- Own identity and access capabilities including SSO, directory-driven provisioning, multi-factor and session policy, service accounts, API credentials, and authentication migrations.
- Own order fulfillment, including entitlement provisioning, renewals, co-termination, trials, and commercial-system handoffs.
- Own deployment-site and regional-footprint decisions based on data residency, sovereignty, agency policy, latency, and service availability.
- Build business cases for regional expansion and determine sequencing based on demand and cost.
- Own internal tooling for support, customer success, and operations teams.
Cross-Functional Expectations
- Work directly with three or more engineering teams and their architects on design decisions.
- Talk to customer administrators regularly and bring their needs into the roadmap.
- Sequence work across teams and make tradeoff calls when platform investment competes with feature delivery.
- Define and monitor measures including provisioning success, time to first login, task completion, support volume, and deals unblocked by regional availability.
- Partner with sales engineering, security, support, revenue operations, and infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
- Roughly 4 to 6 years of product management experience focused on platform, infrastructure, or B2B administrative capabilities.
- Hands-on engineering background earlier in the career, including comfort reading code and API contracts.
- Direct experience with identity and access management, multi-tenant account or organization modeling, permissions and authorization systems, or billing and entitlement provisioning.
- Enterprise or B2B SaaS experience, including exposure to security reviews and procurement.
- Ability to use pipeline and usage data to size opportunities and present defensible quantitative analysis.
- Demonstrated autonomy and sound judgment in running a product domain.
- Strong written communication for documenting platform decisions.
- Comfort working with customers in highly secured environments with narrow change windows.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience introducing SSO or SCIM to a product that did not previously have it, including customer migration.
- Experience with data residency, sovereignty, or multi-region deployment decisions.
- Experience serving public-sector, regulated, or highly security-conscious customers.
- Experience building internal tooling for support and operations teams.
- Experience being the first product manager on a platform team.
Year-One Outcomes
- Within the first 90 days, build a clear picture of account administration and permissions issues, speak with customer administrators and stakeholders, and publish a prioritized problem inventory.
- By six months, establish a target model for organizations, roles, and permissions and define identity roadmap commitments.
- By twelve months, enable customer administrators to complete core tasks without support, reduce manual order-fulfillment intervention, and align engineering and commercial stakeholders on the roadmap.
Compensation
- The compensation range is CAD 132,000 to CAD 182,000 per year for the primary location.
- An additional listed range is CAD 130,000 to CAD 180,000 USD per year.
How We Work
- Magnet Forensics uses a hybrid-flexible approach.
- Employees within a comfortable travel distance of an office occasionally work in person, typically from weekly to monthly depending on team needs.
- Most days, employees can choose the arrangement that works best while staying aligned with team goals.
