The Advanced Product and Solutions organization at RTX provides the joint warfighter with actionable information from an unblinking eye across the battlespace. By joining the APS Engineering team you’ll have the opportunity to design, develop and test product capabilities for Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, integrated sensor suites, precision targeting, multispectral EO/IR targeting systems, Pilot Situational Awareness, Special mission aircraft and Strategic and tactical ISR Systems.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Platform Software Engineer to join our Advanced EO/IR Systems (AES) team in McKinney, TX, which is part of our Advanced Products & Solutions group.
What You Will Do
Troubleshoot, maintain, and implement solutions to optimize infrastructure operations for the AES Product Family.
Analyze and identify requirements for new or existing computer, server, peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems, considering specialized technology needs.

Design, implement, code, test, document, and support systems integration for mission‐critical advanced surveillance and targeting system solutions.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant engineering experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for an additional 2 years of experience.
CompTIA Security+ certification required
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7.x/8.x) including:
Software and hardware installation and maintenance
System administration tasks such as patching, RPM packaging, performance tuning, networking, LDAP user management, and security
Securing and hardening RHEL systems per STIG requirements
Scripting with Bash and Python
Linux virtualization (KVM), Linux networking (creating virtual NICs, implementing forwarding rules, bridging interfaces), and general networking capabilities
Experience with developer tools including Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Jira, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins or GitLab).
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and containerized environments using Ansible, Kickstart, Terraform, Chef, Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes to standardize and automate platform provisioning and deployments.

Linux Security, Hardening, and Enterprise Management
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Red Hat Satellite administration
LUKS implementation
VM and container hardening and vulnerability analysis
AD, SAML, OAuth, OpenID, and other strong authentication technologies
Cloud and DevSecOps Ecosystems
Familiarity with AWS and Azure
Experience with Platform One DevSecOps platform toolchains and capabilities
Experience with at least one major programming language (Groovy, C++, C#, Python, Java) and troubleshooting on a Linux system
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience learning new technologies, methodologies and processes quickly
Proven ability to work effectively with remote colleagues and customers
Experience administering Windows based systems
