The Senior Platform Engineer will own the platform and infrastructure behind a more real-time, event-driven and agent-driven architecture.
The role offers significant influence over next-generation architecture and works directly with the founder and engineering team.
Platform and infrastructure
- Design and evolve highly available production infrastructure across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, Docker, RDS/PostgreSQL and S3.
- Help transition scheduled pipelines to real-time, event-driven services using messaging, queues, asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
- Develop infrastructure for agent-driven AI workflows, including state management, task execution, model routing, retries and observability.
- Support production NLP, LLM and quantitative model workloads, including in-house GPU infrastructure.
Automation and reliability
- Build and manage infrastructure as code using Pulumi.
- Automate deployments through GitHub Actions.
- Build monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting across data, model, service and agent infrastructure.
- Diagnose difficult production problems and take ownership of critical infrastructure reliability.
What we are looking for
- 7+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, DevOps or distributed backend engineering.
- Strong AWS experience, ideally including EKS or ECS, RDS/PostgreSQL, S3 and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging, asynchronous processing and distributed workflows.
- Experience with Pulumi, Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code tool.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent, automated testing, deployments, monitoring and production operations.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in Python, Linux, networking, databases and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to diagnose difficult production problems and take responsibility for critical infrastructure.
- A proactive and resourceful approach suited to a fast-moving engineering environment.
Bonus experience
- Experience with Apache Airflow, real-time data platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, LLM agents, GPU infrastructure or financial-market systems is a bonus.
Work arrangement
- The role offers hybrid flexibility with at least three days per week spent in the Vauxhall hub.
