Job Summary
The Senior Planning Engineer will oversee project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress reporting.
The role supports safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery by tracking performance, identifying delays, and coordinating project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, baseline schedules, execution plans, and work programs.
- Monitor progress, identify delays and schedule risks, and recommend recovery or mitigation measures.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, commercial, and subcontractor teams to collect progress information.
- Track engineering, procurement, material delivery, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare progress measurement, manpower, productivity, and resource-loading reports.
- Review subcontractor schedules and monitor performance against contractual requirements.
- Maintain S-curves, manpower histograms, critical path analysis, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and revised programs.
- Conduct schedule impact analysis and support extension-of-time and delay claims.
- Maintain planning records and ensure timely submission of reports and schedules.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Strong experience in construction, infrastructure, MEP, electrical, or utility projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
- Knowledge of MS Project and MS Excel is an advantage.
- GCC project experience is preferred.
Core Skills
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource planning, progress measurement, and project controls.
- Experience with baseline schedules, critical path analysis, S-curves, and recovery schedules.
- Experience in delay analysis, extension-of-time preparation, and schedule impact assessments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
