Role Overview
FileCloud is hiring a Senior PHP Backend Developer to join its Growth and Expansion team in Riyadh.
The role develops server-side functionality and scalable cloud-based services for enterprise file governance and collaboration products.
Product and Company
FileCloud provides an enterprise file sync and share platform with compliance, data governance, data leak protection, data retention, and digital rights management capabilities.
The product portfolio also includes Signority, an e-signature and document workflow platform.
Work Arrangement
- This is a fully office-based role in Riyadh that connects with the wider global FileCloud team.
- Onsite work includes flexible hours outside the core 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. US Eastern Standard Time period.
Responsibilities
- Develop efficient and reliable software to support and extend current products.
- Use PHPStorm, MongoDB, NodeJS, AWS or Azure, Git, Memcache, code reviews, PHPUnit, and Solr.
- Solve complex architectural challenges when implementing new features.
- Integrate databases, file systems, and cloud services into delivered solutions.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and deliver software patches.
- Share knowledge and experience with other engineers.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of web application development experience and 3 years of PHP development experience.
- Strong knowledge of automation testing, client-server architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of PHP 8.2 or later, Composer, PHPUnit, HTTP, XML, and REST.
- Highly proficient spoken and written English with strong communication skills.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar in daily development workflows.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of modern PHP frameworks and enterprise architecture patterns, eventing, or queues.
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS, TypeScript, CI/CD, Docker, Solr, or Redis.
