  • Coordinate materials and equipment movements with project, procurement, shipping, and construction teams.
  • Update shipping, customs-clearance, and delivery plans and coordinate urgent shipment priorities.
  • Plan cargo consolidation and coordinate local suppliers to support on-time delivery.

Freight Procurement and Cost Control

  • Support freight-forwarder and shipping-contractor selection through RFQs, offers, bid tabulations, evaluations, and recommendations.
  • Identify suitable and cost-effective transport routes and issue collection instructions.
  • Monitor freight costs against approved budgets and provide variance, cost, and status updates.
  • Prepare freight-cost estimates and logistics execution-plan inputs for tenders and proposals.

Shipment Execution and Documentation

  • Obtain complete shipping documents that comply with contractual requirements and destination customs regulations.
  • Verify, record, and forward original shipping documents to customs-clearance agents.
  • Track shipments through collection, customs clearance, and final delivery, escalating delays and implementing recovery actions.
  • Coordinate delivery, loading, unloading, storage, and empty-container returns with project stakeholders.

Cargo and Service Providers

  • Maintain shipment records and update the Material Management System, shipping module, and status reports.
  • Report cargo overages, shortages, and damage and prepare applicable OS&D reports.
  • Maintain damage records and prepare cargo-insurance declarations when required.
  • Monitor logistics service providers for compliance with contracts, procedures, regulations, and service levels.

HSE and Team Support

  • Support applicable health, safety, security, and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of logistics personnel as required.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, engineering, international trade, or a related discipline is required.
  • A CILT, CIPS, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible logistics experience, including five years in EPC, energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy construction.
  • Experience with transportation, project logistics, freight sourcing, customs clearance, documentation, cost control, cargo, and logistics-provider management is required.

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication, stakeholder-management, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures, transport regulations, customs clearance, Incoterms, bills of lading, cargo insurance, and banking practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database, material-management, email, scheduling, and project-management applications.
