Role overview

Strategic and technical responsibilities

• Analyze, document, and propose solutions by mapping business requirements to technical solutions.
• Participate in application design and ensure components are well written, performant, and scalable.
• Develop software to system specifications and deliver quality software to agreed timescales.
• Take ownership of changes from development through live production.

Operational responsibilities

• Work with developers, systems analysts, testers, architects, delivery managers, DevOps, support, release management, and business stakeholders.
• Estimate work and define backlog items.
• Write code and unit tests to specification.
• Perform defect triage and track issues through technical resolution.
• Own code management and ensure effective source control use.
• Work with DevOps to achieve continuous deployment.

People leadership

• Share experience with team members and contribute to the learning culture.
• Mentor and guide other developers.

Experience and attributes

• Solid technical expertise in relevant business applications and technologies is required.
• Experience with C#, Git, unit test frameworks, SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization is required.
• Experience with complex or challenging projects is required.
• The role requires excellent communication, mentoring, flexibility, self-motivation, teamwork, and self-organization.
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure is required.

Preferred skills

• Azure experience is advantageous.
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Angular, React, CSS, or similar web application technologies is advantageous.
• Experience in Agile working environments is advantageous.
