Education
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Process, or equivalent).
Experience
Minimum of 15 years of technical experience within the mining industry.
More than 10 years of experience in project evaluation, budgeting, and cost estimation from project initiation through completion.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of quality and accountability.
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic) may be required depending on the role and project location.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mining operations, mine planning, project development, and economic evaluation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Oracle applications is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in one or more mining software packages such as: GEOVIA GEMS Whittle Vulcan Datamine Surpac Micromine Other industry-standard mine planning and resource modeling software
