The Senior Mechanical Technician role at Qatalum is a full time, on site position based in Abu Dhabi.
The Senior Mechanical Technician will perform day to day mechanical maintenance activities on plant equipment, including routine inspections, scheduled servicing, and corrective repairs to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical faults, executing troubleshooting procedures, and coordinating with operations teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
The role involves implementing preventive maintenance plans, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for mechanical systems and processes.
The Senior Mechanical Technician will also guide junior technicians, adhere to safety and quality standards, and collaborate with engineering and production staff on technical issues and upgrades.

Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, with experience working on industrial and heavy mechanical systems.
Candidates should possess practical expertise in Preventive Maintenance and Maintenance, including planning, executing, and documenting scheduled maintenance activities.
Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills for mechanical equipment, including fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective actions.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent vocational qualification and experience.
Demonstrated experience in heavy industry, smelting, metals, power generation, or similar industrial environments is highly beneficial.
Strong understanding of safety standards, risk assessment, and safe work practices in industrial settings.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, shift based team environment.
