Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design and delivery across concept, detailed design, construction, and commissioning stages.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, authority requirements, and standards including ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, and CIBSE.
• Drive quality through technical reviews, calculations, simulations, value engineering, and design optimization.
• Use Revit, BIM workflows, and energy modelling platforms.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary design delivery.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and performance assessments.
• Lead design reviews, address technical risks, and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Support project managers with progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Engage clients by presenting solutions, resolving challenges, and building relationships.
• Contribute to sustainability strategies and digital engineering improvements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 8–12 years of mechanical engineering experience in UAE building services.
• Experience delivering complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Expertise in HVAC, energy-efficient systems, mechanical plants, equipment selection, piping, and system integration.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, IES, HAP, and mechanical calculation software.
• Knowledge of UAE authority regulations, approval processes, and applicable international codes.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, and feasibility studies.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems and smart building integration.
• Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of UAE project delivery frameworks.

Preferred Attributes

• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward professional accreditation.
• Experience with large-scale or high-profile developments in the UAE or GCC.
• Exposure to LEED, Estidama, Net Zero strategies, or other sustainability frameworks.
• Experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environments.

Workplace

• The role combines office collaboration and flexibility, with three office days per week.
