Senior Mechanical Engineer

Envision is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Research, develop, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products, systems, and equipment. - Analyze customer requirements, technical specifications, engineering data, and design proposals to determine project feasibility and design approach. - Design and develop mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, electromechanical, and automated systems utilizing sound engineering principles and industry best practices. - Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. - Develop testing methodologies, procedures, and validation plans to evaluate system performance and reliability. - Lead and coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and customer specifications. - Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair efforts to maximize equipment performance and system availability. - Evaluate fielded systems and installations, identify deficiencies, and recommend design improvements or corrective actions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and program management personnel. - Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS - 8 plus years of professional Mechanical Engineering experience. - Experience designing, developing, testing, and integrating mechanical or electromechanical systems - Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and system integration. - Experience developing technical documentation, engineering drawings, and test procedures. DESIRED SKILLS - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
