Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design and delivery across concept, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, international standards, and authority requirements.
• Drive quality through reviews, calculations, simulations, value engineering, optimization, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Use Revit, BIM workflows, and energy modelling platforms.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and coordinate with other design disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and performance assessments.
• Lead design reviews, resolve technical risks, and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Support project managers with progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Present solutions to clients and contribute to innovation, sustainability, and digital engineering improvements.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 8–12 years of mechanical engineering experience in building services in the UAE.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong expertise in HVAC, mechanical plant design, equipment selection, piping systems, and system integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES, HAP, BIM workflows, and mechanical calculation software.
• Knowledge of UAE authority regulations, approval processes, and applicable international codes.
• Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, and feasibility studies.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems and smart building integration.
• Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of UAE project delivery frameworks.

Preferred attributes

• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward professional accreditation.
• Experience with large-scale or high-profile developments in the UAE or GCC.
• Exposure to LEED, Estidama, or Net Zero sustainability strategies.
• Experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environments.

Workplace

• The role combines collaboration, flexibility, and connection, with three office days per week.
