About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design activities for building and infrastructure projects including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems

- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Support value engineering initiatives and participate in design reviews and client meetings

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Significant experience in mechanical design for large scale building or mixed use projects
- Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms)
- Strong understanding of international and local building codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, local regulations)
- Ability to lead design teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Professional registration or membership in relevant engineering body is an advantage

Role Description
- Lead mechanical design activities for building and infrastructure projects including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems from concept through detailed design.
- Develop and review design calculations, prepare and check drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members, support value engineering initiatives, and participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination workshops.
- Resolve design related issues during construction, support site teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical design practices.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Mechanical Engineering with solid knowledge of building services systems and applied engineering principles.
- Skills in Design Engineering and Product Design.
- Skills in Machine Design where applicable.
- Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; professional registration or membership is an advantage.
- Significant experience in mechanical design for large scale building or mixed use projects, preferably in consultancy environments in the Gulf region.
- Strong understanding of international and local building codes, standards, and sustainability guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local authority regulations).
- Ability to lead design teams, manage multiple projects, and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders and clients.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
