About the Role
FFbots is hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop firefighting robots in Dubai. The role involves structural design, 3D CAD modeling, prototype fabrication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Join mechanical design and development of robotic platforms
- Design structural components, chassis systems, drive systems, gearboxes, cooling systems, and water handling components
- Analyze loads, torque, heat, and stress for extreme firefighting environments
- Perform 3D CAD modeling and prepare manufacturing drawings
- Work closely with electrical and software teams to integrate motors, sensors, water monitors, tracks, and control systems
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements
- Evaluate materials, suppliers, and fabrication techniques (welding, laser cutting, bending, machining, coating, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
- 7+ years experience in mechanical design of robotics, military vehicles, heavy equipment, machinery, defense systems, or industrial vehicles
- Excellent proficiency in Inventor or SolidWorks, and mechanical calculations (torque, gear ratio, load, thermal, stress)
- Experience with tracked robots, electric motors, gearboxes, or mobile robotics systems is a big advantage
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for production
- Ability to work in fast paced R&D and production environment
- Strong problem solving skills and passion for innovation
