Position Summary
The role leads MEP design, coordination, value engineering, and technical delivery across multiple projects.
The engineer will apply UAE codes, authority requirements, and practical site execution knowledge to deliver coordinated, cost-effective designs.
Design and Engineering
- Lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use projects.
- Review project requirements and documents and prepare design calculations, technical reports, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.
- Produce and review HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, voltage-drop, and fire protection calculations.
Coordination and Approvals
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, civil, and interior design teams and resolve design clashes.
- Review BIM and Revit models and coordinate with BIM engineers to achieve clash-free designs.
- Prepare authority submissions, address comments, and obtain approvals from relevant UAE regulatory bodies.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor design engineers, BIM engineers, and draftsmen and conduct technical drawing reviews.
- Provide engineering guidance during project execution and develop departmental standards and best practices.
Value Engineering and Construction Support
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative materials, systems, and engineering solutions.
- Support tendering, review RFIs and technical submittals, resolve site engineering issues, and attend meetings and site visits as required.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company procedures, and quality management systems.
- Conduct technical audits and maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of MEP design experience, including at least 5 years in a senior design role.
- Proven MEP consultancy and contracting experience in the UAE or GCC.
- Experience across high-rise, commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in design review, authority approvals, tendering, and construction support.
- A master’s degree is advantageous, and professional engineering membership or certification is preferred.
Technical Skills and Standards
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Strong understanding of UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, DEWA regulations, Dubai Municipality codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC, IPC, UPC, SMACNA, and CIBSE standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud, and HAP.
