About the Role
Appnovation seeks a Senior Manager, AI-First Design to drive the design of AI-first platforms for a global partner. This individual contributor role involves hands-on design partnership, leading conversational and agentic AI experiences, and owning pattern areas of the design system.

Responsibilities
- Act as a hands on design partner within cross functional teams, delivering rapid prototypes
- Lead design of Agentic AI experiences and own Conversational UX end to end
- Design and document assistant behaviors including tone, voice, and trust building patterns
- Own specific pattern areas of the AI first design system and ship them as code
- Create interactive prototypes simulating agent behavior to validate workflows
- Maintain reference library for automated design quality checks
- Monitor pattern usage and refine standards based on real world data
- Create reusable playbooks and pattern libraries for agentic workflows
- Train and mentor peer designers and cross functional partners
- Act as strategist framing problems and influencing roadmaps
Requirements
- 7 10 years of progressive UX design experience
- Extensive experience with AI driven design tools and platforms
- Demonstrated experience designing Conversational UX (chat and/or voice)
- Demonstrated experience designing Agentic AI workflows
- Experience shipping design system components into engineering pipelines
- Hands on expertise ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Robust portfolio demonstrating system level design thinking and AI powered experiences
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead without authority

- Agentic & Conversational Leadership: lead design of Agentic AI experiences and own Conversational UX.
- Assistant Behavior Design: design and document assistant behaviors including tone, voice, and trust patterns.
- Design System Pattern Ownership: own pattern areas and ship them as code.
- Agent Simulation & LLM Collaboration: create interactive prototypes simulating agent behavior.
- QA & Guardrail Management: maintain reference library for automated design quality checks.
- Pattern Adoption & Standards Drift: monitor usage and refine standards.
- Playbooks & Libraries: create reusable playbooks for agentic workflows.
- Enablement & Mentorship: train and mentor peer designers.
- Product Minded Design Strategy: frame problems and influence roadmaps.
Must Have (Basic Qualifications)
- 7 10 years of progressive UX design experience.
- Extensive experience with AI driven design tools.
- Demonstrated experience designing Conversational UX.
- Demonstrated experience designing Agentic AI workflows.
- AI first mindset.
- Experience shipping design system components into engineering pipelines.
