Role Overview
The Senior Manager Team Security supports the Director of Security with safety and security procedures for assigned players, coaches, and executives.
The role coordinates game-day security, player needs, local police relationships, and contracted security resources.
Core Responsibilities
- Travel with the team during preseason, regular season, and playoffs to provide personal player security at home and road games.
- Prepare and distribute player-security information to team personnel and in-house staff.
- Coordinate security efforts with team personnel and MSG staff on game nights.
- Provide personal security for assigned players, coaches, executives, and their family members.
- Coordinate operational and investigative matters with security, operations, intelligence, and investigations leaders.
- Collaborate with the Director of Basketball Operations as needed.
Safety Program Responsibilities
- Manage safety data software, systems, and groups for data collection, visualization, distribution, and risk identification.
- Work with aviation, corporate safety, government agencies, vendors, and industry partners on systemic safety issues.
- Provide senior management with insight into safety events and continuous-improvement opportunities.
- Deliver reports on safety trends, systemic observations, data analysis, corrective actions, response times, and program standardization.
- Support exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members while following appearance and presentation guidelines.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of protection-related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of previous law enforcement or security experience.
- Strong communication and analytical capabilities.
- Experience working with celebrities, high-profile athletes, and their family members.
- Experience coordinating security and safety needs with law enforcement for clients.
- Specialized training in personal protection, safety, and security for high-profile clients.
Special Requirements
- Ability to travel as required for investigations or security operations; the role requires extensive travel.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, split days off, and a 24x7 environment.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds, stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and work in inclement weather.
- Must pass a company-administered physical fitness examination.
Workplace and Compensation
- The role is onsite.
- The pay range is $96,000 to $225,000 USD yearly.
