About the Team
The Cybersecurity and Digital Risk team protects airline operations by enabling secure and resilient systems, managing threats and vulnerabilities, and supporting response and recovery.
The team embeds cybersecurity and digital risk management across the business and its digital solutions.
Job Overview
Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers responsible for end-to-end security architecture across products, applications, and services.
Create and implement a security vision for all products within the United portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and develop team talent, including personnel management.
- Prioritize work, allocate resources, track assignments, and report project and program status.
- Monitor legislation and compliance standards and update architectures and best practices.
- Coordinate remediation of non-compliant items.
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a STEM field preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficiency with OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, and risk management.
- Ability to secure AI, ML, or LLM products or familiarity with their development lifecycles.
- Application security testing, programming, DevSecOps, SDLC, and web or API security proficiency.
- Ability to lead people, manage partners, and develop AI-assisted security engineering capabilities.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience are preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as CEH, GSEC, CISM, Security+, CISSP, CISA, SSCP, CASP, or OSCP are preferred.
- Experience with AI security, cloud-native products, microservices, compliance frameworks, vulnerability management, cryptography, IAM, and network security is preferred.

Compensation
- The base pay range is $140,600 to $183,108 per year.
- The role may also include bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.
