How you’ll make an impact: As Senior Manager, Platform Engineering & Delivery, you will lead multiple delivery capability domains within Platform Engineering focused on improving software delivery across SiriusXM. You will be accountable for the teams, technical leads, shared platforms, and operating standards engineering organizations rely on to develop, validate, secure, package, and release software at scale. In this role, you will define and execute the annual and multi-year delivery engineering strategy and roadmap, ensuring that our platforms and tools measurably improve developer productivity, software quality, operational consistency, release reliability, adoption, and security posture. You will establish shared engineering standards and governance, influence senior leaders across engineering, infrastructure, security, and product, and make investment, staffing, and prioritization decisions that build a strong organization and develop future leaders.

Lead Organization and Roadmap: Lead multiple delivery capability domains and the engineers and technical leads responsible for them. Standardizing Artifacts and Containers: Ensure software packages, build outputs, and containerized workloads are reliable, traceable, secure, and standardized for easy consumption and delivery.
Improving Quality and Security Posture: Drive capabilities for code quality and security scanning to enhance maintainability, engineering effectiveness, and enable secure-by-default delivery practices by shifting security earlier in the development lifecycle.
Foster Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with security, infrastructure, developer experience, and application engineering teams to identify friction, improve workflows, and deliver scalable shared solutions.
Operational Accountability and Excellence: Own technical and organizational decision-making for the delivery engineering portfolio, ensuring solutions align with broader platform strategy and business goals. Set priorities across multiple concurrent efforts, resolve cross-functional trade-offs, and manage material risks, dependencies, service reliability, capacity, and investment decisions.
Performance, Standards, and Governance: Establish and evolve engineering processes, delivery standards, governance, and secure-by-default practices. Use adoption, developer productivity, delivery performance, reliability, quality, and security metrics to evaluate platform effectiveness and hold teams accountable for measurable operational outcomes.
Develop Talent and Organizational Capability: Coach and develop technical leads and engineers, build a strong leadership bench, and create succession and development plans. Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR on hiring, organization design, workforce planning, performance management, and staffing decisions across the delivery engineering portfolio.
Enterprise Adoption and Executive Influence: Drive adoption of shared delivery platforms and standards across multiple engineering organizations. Present recommendations, performance results, risks, and investment trade-offs to senior management and secure alignment on changes that affect company-wide software delivery.
Resource and Vendor Stewardship: Plan and manage the team’s operating capacity and approved tooling or vendor investments, balancing cost, reliability, security, and developer experience while ensuring resources are aligned to strategic priorities.
Typically has 7 or more years of experience with 3 or more years of management experience managing software engineering teams, including responsibility for multiple capability areas, technical leads, or managers, and demonstrated success developing leadership talent.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Domain Expertise: Experience with one or more core delivery domains: CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, container platforms, code quality tooling, software supply chain controls, or security scanning platforms.
Strategic & Technical Judgment: Strong technical judgment and understanding of modern software delivery architecture, with the ability to challenge technical decisions, assess risk, and guide complex trade-offs. Demonstrated ability to contribute to engineering strategy, improve processes, and align execution with business priorities.
Team and People Leadership: Experience leading multiple engineering capability areas and delivering results across complex, cross-organizational technical initiatives. Strong people leadership skills encompassing coaching and mentoring senior engineers, technical leads, and managers; performance management; succession planning; talent development; team building; and organization design.
Operational Excellence and Communication: Strong organizational and operational leadership skills, including annual and multi-year planning, portfolio prioritization, execution management, service accountability, risk mitigation, capacity planning, and vendor or tooling investment decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-influence skills, with demonstrated ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders, resolve sensitive cross-functional trade-offs, and gain adoption of shared standards across multiple engineering organizations.
Experience using automation, AI-assisted development tools, or workflow optimization to improve delivery efficiency and engineering productivity is a plus.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $106,600 to $190,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
