Position Summary

  • Reporting to the Director, Finance & Corporate Services, the Senior Manager, Operations and Facilities provides tangible support for employees and clients.
  • Oversees space requirements, furniture, IT hardware, facility maintenance, office supplies, and contracted services.
  • Leads all Corporate Services projects and ensures compliance with Health & Safety and OHS legislation.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with direct reports and stakeholders through thoughtful, authentic, and adaptive leadership.
  • Build an effective team through guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure performance management is focused on individual growth and goal oriented.
  • Ensure succession planning processes and documentation are in place.
  • Demonstrate role model behaviors encouraging a safe and wellness oriented culture.
  • Participate as a member of the senior leadership team in strategic and operational planning.
  • Ensure CMHA Calgary has physical resources needed for daily operations, including contract negotiation and staff management.
  • Responsible for procurement of goods and services, including sourcing bids, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Manage all purchasing for CMHA Calgary with oversight of Director.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of all organizational assets.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain the company's Emergency Response Plan, Business Continuity Plan, and OH&S Program.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to oversee Health & Safety matters and training.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Minimum of six years’ experience in a senior management role overseeing office administration, facility management, IT, and health and safety.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with specialty in project management or combination of experience and education preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to build and manage teams and interact effectively with peers and senior leaders.
  • Knowledge of project management, contract, and budget administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing Emergency Response Plans, Business Continuity Plans, and OH&S programs.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and internet.
  • Experience in property management including leases, monthly rent roll charges, property management software.
