Job Description

  • Seeking a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering for the Toronto site.

The Role

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering function within a chemical plant environment.
  • Oversee technical manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and site technical operations.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost effective production.
  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers and a facilities engineer.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers.
  • Manage facilities engineering and maintenance team.
  • Manage hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee process safety and process optimization.
  • Identify and implement improvements in cost, quality, safety, and delivery.
  • Support plant operations through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs.
  • Support new product introduction and process scale up.
  • Oversee multiple engineering and capital projects.
  • Act as key interface between engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, R&D, and commercial teams.
  • Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business goals.

What We Seek

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 8 12+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process engineering.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience with new product introduction, process scale up, and manufacturing integration.
  • Significant experience in process safety management.
  • Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems.
  • Proven track record managing complex, cross functional projects.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Deep technical expertise in chemical processes.
  • Project management and program leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
