About Nscale
Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Nscale enables AI-focused companies to achieve superior results by reducing the complexity of AI development. Our GPU cloud bolsters technical capabilities and directly supports strategic business outcomes, including cost management, rapid innovation, and environmental responsibility.
We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.
The Role
Nscale is looking for a Senior Manager, Internal Communications to build and run the machinery behind how our company communicates.
Nscale is scaling rapidly, and the infrastructure that supports how we communicate internally needs to scale with it. Reporting to the VP, Internal Communications, you will own our internal communications channels, standards and processes, ensuring information reaches employees consistently, accurately and through the right route. You will also own the execution of the change communications that flow through them.
This role determines how information reaches employees across eight time zones — through which channels, in what sequence and to what effect. It requires strong editorial judgment, operational rigour and the confidence to set and maintain standards with senior stakeholders. Based on the East Coast, you will work across both our London headquarters and our West Coast leadership, helping to keep a globally distributed team aligned.
Our internal communications team is small, senior and deliberately unstructured. You will own specific areas outright, contribute to areas your colleagues own, and pick up whatever the company needs at a given moment — a last-minute all-hands, a policy that has to land well, a milestone worth celebrating. The scope below is where we expect you to start, not where we expect you to stay. This is a hands-on role: you will set your own plans and then deliver them yourself.
What You'll Do
Channels & Communications Operations
Own the day-to-day operation of our internal communications channels: intranet, Slack, company email and newsletters
Run and continuously improve our intranet — content calendar, page ownership, publishing, taxonomy, search quality and accuracy
Own Slack governance: channel architecture, naming conventions, announcement discipline, archiving and the norms that keep it usable at scale
Set and hold email standards — templates, distribution list hygiene, send-time rules that work across time zones
Write and produce our company newsletter and regular company-wide updates
Intake, Governance & Editorial Operations
Build and own the front door to our team: how the business requests communications support, what information we need, and what turnaround people can expect
Triage incoming requests — self-serve with a template, review a draft, or build it together — and hold those tiers even under pressure
Own publishing rights and company-wide send permissions, working with senior stakeholders to keep the bar high without becoming a bottleneck
Build and maintain our editorial calendar as the single source of truth for every announcement, launch, policy change and event across the company
Bring structure and prioritisation to a fast-moving environment with multiple senior stakeholders and competing requests
Change Communications Execution
Own the delivery half of change and business communications: what goes through which channel, to which audience, in what sequence, at what time
Build the plans, timelines and channel choreography that make policy, systems, process and organisational changes land cleanly
Produce the assets — announcements, FAQs, intranet pages, manager notes — and make sure nothing lands without the pieces around it
Support sensitive and high-stakes communications with sound judgment, discretion and attention to detail
Measurement & Insight
Own reporting on how internal communications are performing: channel reach, engagement, intake volume and request patterns
Establish baselines now so we can show what is working as the company scales
Turn what you learn into changes to content, channels and process — not just a dashboard
Company Rhythm & Moments
Contribute to our company rhythm and support major company moments, including all-hands and company-wide gatherings
Draft and shape messaging for senior leaders in your areas of ownership
Bring strong editorial judgment to everything the team publishes
Connective Work Across a Distributed Team
Work fluently from London to the West Coast, and help keep a distributed team and company genuinely joined up
Provide surge support to colleagues during peak company moments
What We're Looking For
Significant experience in internal or employee communications, ideally within a technology, high-growth or global business
Hands-on experience owning internal communications channels — intranet, Slack or equivalent, and company-wide email — including the unglamorous parts
Experience building process where none existed: intake, standards, governance, editorial calendars
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex topics clear, engaging and relevant
Strong judgment and the confidence to hold a standard with stakeholders more senior than yourself
Experience executing communications for organisational, systems or policy change
Genuinely comfortable with operational detail and follow-through, and motivated by building things that keep working after you stop pushing
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities at pace
Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities and a scope that will change as we grow
Nice to have: experience with intranet platforms, comms measurement tools or workflow and intake tooling; experience communicating with frontline, field or non-desk-based employees.
