Position Overview

Financial Leadership & Stewardship

  • Lead development and oversight of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
  • Provide financial analysis for executive and Board decision making
  • Oversee cash flow, banking, investments, and liquidity
  • Develop long term financial strategies
  • Lead reserve planning and capital renewal forecasting

Financial Systems & Technology Leadership

  • Act as expert and owner of Sage ERP and Deputy payroll systems
  • Ensure data integrity, access controls, audit trails
  • Lead automation and modernization of financial processes
  • Oversee integration between Sage, HRIS, banking platforms
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and vendors

Internal Controls, Risk & Compliance

  • Design and maintain strong internal financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with Board policies and statutory requirements
  • Maintain continuous audit readiness and coordinate year end audit
  • Monitor enterprise financial risks and recommend mitigation

Strategic Finance & Executive Support

  • Provide multi year financial projections and scenario analysis
  • Support Senior Management with financial insights
  • Translate complex financial data for non financial leaders
  • Provide financial leadership for strategic initiatives
  • Evaluate financial viability of new services and programs

People Leadership & Department Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop finance staff
  • Establish clear priorities and performance expectations
  • Ensure finance staffing evolves with organizational complexity

Governance, Insurance & External Relations

  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, insurers, auditors
  • Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage
  • Participate in senior leadership discussions

Education, Skills & Experience

  • CPA designation required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related
  • Minimum 5 years senior financial management experience
  • Expertise with ERP (Sage) and payroll systems (Deputy)
  • Experience with financial reporting, compliance, statutory remittances
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and audit
  • Ability to translate complex financial information

Compensation

  • Full time Senior Manager position
  • Salary range CAD 95,000 – CAD 120,000
  • Comprehensive benefits including pension, health, dental, vision
