Algonquin Students' Association is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance to lead financial stewardship, strategic planning, and enterprise financial systems. The ideal candidate is a CPA with 5+ years of senior financial management experience and expertise in ERP and payroll systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead development and oversight of annual operating and capital budgets
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts; analyze variances
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Provide financial analysis to support executive and Board decision making
- Oversee organizational cash flow, banking relationships, investments, and liquidity management
- Develop long term financial strategies for organizational sustainability
- Lead reserve planning, capital renewal forecasting, and asset replacement strategies
- Act as expert and owner of Sage ERP and Deputy payroll systems
- Ensure data integrity, access controls, audit trails, and documentation in financial systems
- Lead automation and modernization of financial processes
- Design and maintain strong internal financial controls and segregation of duties
- Ensure compliance with Board policies, federal, provincial, and statutory requirements
Requirements
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of progressive senior financial management experience
- Demonstrated expertise with ERP (such as Sage) and payroll systems (such as Deputy)
- Proven experience leading financial reporting, compliance, and statutory remittances
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and audit requirements
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights

- Maintain continuous audit readiness and coordinate year end audit
- Monitor enterprise financial risks and recommend mitigation
Strategic Finance & Executive Support
- Provide multi year financial projections and scenario analysis
- Support Senior Management with financial insights
- Translate complex financial data for non financial leaders
- Provide financial leadership for strategic initiatives
- Evaluate financial viability of new services and programs
People Leadership & Department Management
- Lead, coach, and develop finance staff
- Establish clear priorities and performance expectations
- Ensure finance staffing evolves with organizational complexity
Governance, Insurance & External Relations
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, insurers, auditors
- Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage
- Participate in senior leadership discussions
Education, Skills & Experience
- CPA designation required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related
- Minimum 5 years senior financial management experience
- Expertise with ERP (Sage) and payroll systems (Deputy)
- Experience with financial reporting, compliance, statutory remittances
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong understanding of internal controls and audit
- Ability to translate complex financial information
Compensation
- Full time Senior Manager position
- Salary range CAD 95,000 – CAD 120,000
