Purpose of the Role
Support delivery of Property Operations, Maintenance, and Energy Conservation across IHG managed and leased hotels.
Assess POMEC delivery at existing and new hotels and develop plans to align working practices with targeted outcomes.
Use technical assessments to establish performance and align action plans.
Delivery and Accountability
- Lead a local champions team supporting data collection, report consolidation, and property-level audits.
- Conduct technical assessments at designated strategic properties and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare action plans and ensure timely follow-up and implementation across properties.
- Oversee POMEC reporting through Quore Property Management or other agreed systems.
- Monitor compliance with statutory codes and IHG Brand Standards.
- Support preparation for annual Quality Evaluations and Technical Assessments.
- Guide energy, water, waste, and carbon reduction measures through the Green Engage Program.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development support for hotel engineering teams.
- Support hotels during crises and emergencies with technical guidance and coordination.
- Assist with CAPEX, FF&E, maintenance reserve, and Property Improvement Plan activities.
- Consolidate performance reports covering operations, compliance, and sustainability.
Critical Expertise and Experience
- A degree, certificate, or equivalent experience related to maintenance and engineering is preferred.
- Experience in hotel or similar building-services maintenance and day-to-day operations.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and reactive maintenance planning, testing, and records.
- Experience coordinating or supervising small teams or champions groups.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Training in or familiarity with the IHG Way of Preventive Maintenance or an equivalent program.
- Working knowledge of Quore, HotSOS, Knowcross, Message Box, or similar service-optimization tools.
- Working knowledge of Building Management Systems.
- Knowledge of brand standards and their application in daily operations.
- A Building Services, Facilities Management, or equivalent technical qualification is desirable.
- Experience with pre-openings or major renovations focused on compliance, efficiency, safety, security, and sustainability.
