We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Energy Development to join our APAC team. This is a delivery-critical role responsible for securing and delivering connections for large-scale hyperscale data center campuses across multiple APAC markets.
You will own the end-to-end grid interconnection process — from early utility engagement through to energization — acting as the single point of contact for all utility interfaces on assigned projects. This includes connection agreements, technical compliance, grid code navigation, and delivery against program milestones. You will work directly with TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and authorities, and will act as the connective thread across cross-functional internal teams spanning development, construction, engineering, legal, and commercial — aligning priorities, surfacing dependencies, and keeping complex programs moving as one.
The role demands a collaborative leader as much as a technical one. You will work across internal teams — development, construction, engineering, legal, and commercial — to drive shared outcomes, coordinate around common objectives, and ensure grid delivery is embedded in the broader program rather than running in parallel to it. This requires solid technical grounding in power infrastructure, the ability to build trusted relationships both internally and with grid operators across different regulatory environments, and the commercial judgment to manage risk and escalate effectively. You will manage external consultants and legal counsel and will lead the development of power delivery playbooks and processes to support EdgeConneX's broader program execution.

Lead the delivery of HV/MV grid connection projects across partner teams, from initial feasibility through to energisation, ensuring program milestones are met.
Manage all aspects of the connection process including grid capacity assessments, connection applications, technical studies, and construction coordination with the DSO/TSO to ensure on-time delivery.
Track and resolve grid connection risks, escalating any technical, commercial or regulatory blockers to senior leadership with clear options and recommendations.
Coordinate any offsite grid connection or on-site substation works alongside TSO/DSO infrastructure works to ensure alignment of program and technical interfaces.
Act as ECX's primary interface with grid operators on all technical and commercial matters related to project delivery.
Act as the primary point of coordination for grid workstreams across internal teams — development, construction, engineering, legal, commercial, and finance — ensuring grid delivery is fully integrated into overall campus program management.
Lead regular grid status reviews with cross-functional stakeholders, providing clear, consistent reporting on milestone progress, risks, and commercial implications.
Work closely with the development team to support early-stage site assessments, ensuring grid feasibility and connection timelines are accurately reflected in business cases and investment submissions.
Partner with the legal and commercial teams to negotiate and execute connection agreements, ensuring contractual positions are understood and managed across the business.
Ensure construction and engineering teams have clear visibility of grid technical requirements, interface obligations, and program dependencies at each project stage.
Build strong working relationships with regional project leads and country teams, acting as a trusted resource on grid matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide sufficient technical oversight of grid connection designs to ensure ECX's on-site substation infrastructure is compatible with TSO/DSO requirements and relevant grid codes, working with engineering and external advisors where deeper technical analysis is required.
Navigate grid code compliance requirements across jurisdictions, working with technical teams and legal counsel to identify derogation pathways and compliance timelines.
Advise development, engineering and construction teams on grid technical requirements, constraints, and risks at each stage of project delivery.
Stay current with evolving grid connection frameworks, network access regulations, and TSO/DSO policy developments across key APAC markets.
Develop, maintain and drive program schedules for grid connection workstreams across the APAC portfolio, integrating with overall campus delivery program.
Track progress against key milestones — capacity reservation, license applications, planning approvals, connection agreement execution, construction commencement, energization — and report status to senior leadership.
Identify and manage grid-related critical path risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Identify opportunities to accelerate grid delivery through alternative connection strategies or proactive utility engagement.
Manage budgets for grid connection contributions and external advisory costs, providing accurate cost forecasting.
Advise on grid connection commercial structures, including connection contributions, capacity charges, and flexible or conditional access arrangements.
Translate grid workstream status into clear executive-level communications, including contributions to investment committee materials, leadership briefings, and board-level reporting, with a focus on risk, commercial exposure, and program confidence.
Lead the development of grid delivery playbooks & responsibilities frameworks defining repeatable processes, standard templates, and decision frameworks that can be embedded to support power delivery program.
Document lessons learned from live projects and translate these into structured guidance — covering connection applications, utility engagement, grid code compliance, and commercial negotiation — to build institutional knowledge and reduce reliance on individual expertise.
Global sustainable data center provider operating facilities for cloud, AI, content, network, and enterprise customers.
