Role overview
The Senior Manager will work within Scotiabank's Enterprise Data and AI Technology organization.
The role leads engineers responsible for the stability, scalability, security, compliance, and operational upkeep of enterprise data platforms.
Leadership and partnerships
- Set team direction, goals, accountability, staffing, training, and career development.
- Build partnerships with stakeholders and cross-functional platform, security, cloud operations, networking, and data governance teams.
- Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, procurement, statements of work, and invoice coordination.
Platform reliability and incidents
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for data platform services.
- Implement redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and automation.
- Lead major incident response, communications, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, postmortems, and resilience improvements.
Security, audit, and documentation
- Lead vulnerability management, patching, remediation, risk prioritization, and security scans.
