About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to perform advanced mechanical maintenance on extrusion presses and plant machinery in a manufacturing environment. You will diagnose complex faults on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, guide junior mechanics, and ensure maximum equipment uptime.

Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on extrusion presses, pullers, saws, and ancillary mechanical equipment
- Diagnose complex mechanical faults on hydraulic and pneumatic systems and carry out corrective repairs
- Guide and supervise junior maintenance mechanics and helpers on daily maintenance tasks
- Perform alignment, lubrication, and overhaul of gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and press cylinders
- Coordinate spare parts requirements with Maintenance In Charge and store team
- Maintain accurate job cards, maintenance logs, and equipment history records
- Support planned shutdowns and major overhauls, ensuring work is completed within schedule
- Ensure all mechanical work is carried out in compliance with lock out/tag out and plant safety procedures
- Recommend improvements to reduce recurring breakdowns and extend equipment life
Requirements
- 5 8 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an aluminium extrusion or heavy manufacturing plant, including hydraulic press systems
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification
- Strong skills in equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, and preventive maintenance
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
