Envision Energy seeks a Senior Legal Counsel with 5+ years of energy and project legal experience to support operations in Africa and Middle East. The role involves negotiating commercial agreements, compliance training, and managing external counsel.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with business team in Africa and Middle East regions to provide legal advice
- Develop and provide compliance related training programs and activities
- Negotiate, draft and review commercial agreements
- Support business and finance team on South Africa B BBEE certification and compliance
- Provide legal advice to Human Resources and Finance teams
- Work collaboratively with in house legal and commercial staff in other jurisdictions
- Provide necessary training to the business on legal topics
- Select and manage external counsel on a cost effective basis
Requirements
- At least 5 years of energy and project related legal experience at a law firm or in house at an MNC (renewable energy preferred)
- Solid experience in handling construction contracts, preferably for wind turbines, solar, BESS and related services
- High level proficiency in English language
- Comfortable with oversight of commercial contracts, procurement, labor & employment, litigation and regulatory compliance
- Mature and able to work independently and manage large scale transactions and project teams
- Excellent client service and communications skills

Key Qualifications
- At least 5 years of energy and project related legal experience gained at a respected law firm and/or in house at an MNC (renewable energy industry preferred).
- Solid experience in handling construction contracts, preferably contracts for supplying wind turbines, solar, and BESS and related long term services.
- High level proficiency in English language is required.
- Comfortable with oversight of commercial contracts, procurement contracts, labor & employment, litigation and regulatory compliance.
- Mature and able to work independently and successfully manage large scale transactions and project teams.
