Key Responsibilities
- · Provide L3 engineering support for Red Hat Linux and AIX platforms
- · Lead major Unix and Linux initiatives including OS upgrades, hardware refresh, and platform modernization
- · Own build, patching, upgrades, remediation, and decommissioning activities
- · Resolve complex production issues using deep root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting
- · Drive platform stability, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement
- · Collaborate closely with application teams on deployments, upgrades, troubleshooting, and platform needs
- · Act as senior technical interface with Network, Storage, Backup, and Security teams
- · Maintain documentation, support audits, enable knowledge transfer, and mentor L2 engineers
Red Hat Linux Engineering
· Hands on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 7, 8, and later
· RHEL provisioning, patching, and major operating system upgrades
· Red Hat Satellite for system builds, patching, and content lifecycle management
· Pacemaker clustering including build, maintenance, failover, and troubleshooting
· Advanced Linux troubleshooting across CPU, memory, IO, filesystem, and services
· Support Linux workloads on VMware and physical infrastructure
AIX and IBM Power Engineering
· Hands on experience supporting AIX 7.x environments
· AIX installation, upgrades, technology level and service pack maintenance
· System tuning and capacity planning
· IBM Power migrations from Power8 through Power10
