Senior Lead Software Engineer - Python Backend Developer

Role Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Write high-quality backend Python code using SOLID, YAGNI, and KISS principles.
• Participate in requirements meetings and propose technical solutions.
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
• Establish standards for validating AI outputs, secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and release readiness.
• Apply SDLC toolchain capabilities to improve automation and promote reuse of proven patterns.
• Complete full-lifecycle development projects and post-production maintenance.
• Support teams using the components by researching issues, identifying root causes, and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications

• Requires formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Requires Python experience with object-oriented programming and test-driven development.
• Requires experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
• Requires understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
• Requires experience with distributed computing architecture, event-based architecture, analytical problem-solving, teamwork, and AWS.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of GraphQL is preferred.
• Knowledge of investment banking and markets is highly desirable, although demonstrated ability to learn and apply the domain is also valued.
