Role overview

Job responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
• Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation capabilities at scale.
• Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and processes.
• Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering practices.

Required qualifications and skills

• Expertise building large-scale, high-throughput applications.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud-native applications.
• Proficiency in distributed systems and parallel processing.
• Proficiency in performance analysis and tuning with Java profiling and monitoring tools.
• Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development and validating AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
• Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Working experience with Kafka Streams, event-driven architecture, and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of behavior-driven design, Kubernetes, Apigee Gateway, and cloud services.
• Working knowledge of agentic workflows and production deliverables in agentic AI.
• Hands-on experience across the modern AI toolchain.
