Role Overview

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The role leads landscape architecture design and delivery for commercial developments and master-planned communities.

The position combines creative vision and technical expertise to create outdoor environments suited to regional climate and cultural context.

The role includes mentoring junior team members, influencing design direction, and contributing to high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead landscape architecture projects from initial concept through construction administration.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable solutions responsive to site conditions, client objectives, and Abu Dhabi requirements.
  • Prepare master plans, detailed drawings, specifications, and 3D visualizations.
  • Manage and mentor landscape design teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, urban planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Present design concepts and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and UAE sustainability standards.
  • Oversee construction-phase implementation and quality control.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable-design practices.
  • Support business development through proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of professional landscape architecture experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • Working towards professional membership in Urban Design or Architecture, such as RIBA or an equivalent body.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
