Role overview
Barclays is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer at VP level for its Pune location.
The role leads engineering teams, provides technical guidance, and delivers high-quality software aligned with business objectives.
Technical experience
- Experience with object-oriented and functional programming is required.
- Experience with domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, microservices, and large-scale distributed systems is required.
- Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs, messaging systems, and streaming platforms is required.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture across AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
- Experience with CI/CD, test automation, infrastructure as code, Docker, and Kubernetes is required.
- Experience with security fundamentals, performance engineering, reliability practices, and data modeling is required.
Valued skills
- Strong coding experience in at least one modern language is valued, including Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with the IBM Sterling Product suite and Git and CI/CD is valued.
- Engineering governance, coding standards, peer review, refactoring, and technical debt management are relevant to the role.
