Senior Java Software Engineer - NMS
As a Senior Java Software Engineer – NMS reporting to Director – Software Engineering, NMS, you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering Nasdaq's leading Market Surveillance platform — technology that helps keep global markets fair, transparent, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshooting and implement solutions to Nasdaq Market Surveillance
- Reviews system requirements and business processes.
- Participate in technical design, functional specification reviews, develop project estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications.
- Determines systems software design requirements.
- Provides application software development services or technical support typically for more challenging assignments.
- Mentor others in the team on implementing system improvements, challenging the team to increase efficiency wherever possible and to utilize current industry trends.
- Participates in IT systems strategy, development and /or integrations services to clients.
Required Qualifications
- Have Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using Java .
- Experience working in financial institutions is highly preferred but not required
- Special Qualifications: Maintains professional association memberships. Specialized development in business acumen, financial, and critical thinking.
