Position Overview
CARD91 is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Java for its backend team.
The role develops payment issuance and processing systems using core Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka Streams.
The backend team builds payment-related products for banks and fintech companies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and Java backend services.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and QA teams.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design database schemas and manage data flow across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Implement security practices for sensitive financial data.
- Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot production issues.
- Stay updated on technologies and frameworks that improve backend architecture.
Required Qualifications
- The role requires 2 to 4 years of Java experience.
- Strong Java 8 or later programming knowledge is required.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and NoSQL technologies is required.
- Agentic AI must have been used for development and testing.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and RESTful services is required.
- Candidates should be able to convert functional requirements into technical solutions and specifications.
- Proficiency with Git and ability to work with Agile development methods are required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Spring Boot and microservices is a plus.
- Understanding of AWS cloud services is a plus.
- A proactive attitude, strong analytical ability, teamwork, and quick learning are valued.
