The Senior Java & Mobile Developer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust Java-based web and mobile applications that support the university’s strategic goals.
This role involves collaborating across departments to analyze requirements, design solutions, and deploy applications that enhance user experience, productivity, and efficiency.

Duties And Responsibilities
Major Duties/ Responsibilities: · Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and mobile apps that meet the university’s needs, ensuring compatibility across devices and platforms. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze user and system requirements, translating them into technical specifications. · Design and implement mobile applications for platforms such as Android and iOS, integrating with web-based systems to provide seamless user experiences. · Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code, following best practices for both Java and mobile technologies. · Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, promoting coding standards and efficient practices. · Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues within web and mobile applications, ensuring high performance and usability. · Implement rigorous testing and validation to ensure applications function as intended across various devices and operating systems. · Monitor and optimize application performance to improve load times, responsiveness, and user satisfaction. · Stay current with emerging mobile and web technologies, recommending solutions to enhance PMU’s digital landscape. · Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architecture, codebase, and configurations for future reference. · Provide support and training to end-users and technical teams, addressing inquiries and ensuring effective application use. · Collaborate with the Web Manager and other stakeholders to set project timelines, prioritize tasks, and align with university goals. · Ensure applications adhere to PMU’s data security and privacy policies, implementing best practices to protect sensitive information. Qualifications & Experience (Required) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, directly related to the duties specified. Previous experience in a web system analyst or similar position is highly preferred. Ability to work effectively in team-based, collaborative settings. Willingness to take initiative and work independently when required. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent command of the English language, with familiarity in technology-infused academic environments preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required) · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Attention to quality and accuracy in work, with a commitment to first-time-right execution. · Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and expand technical skills. · High attention to detail, self-motivated, and result-oriented. · Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders. · Professional, polite, and attentive, with a responsive approach to challenges. · Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. · Analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem-solving, with confidence under pressure. · Resilience and adaptability in managing ambiguity and complexity. · Solid IT skills, including a foundational understanding of systems architecture and data flows.
