We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Vendor Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. In this brand-new role, you will lead a team of IT Vendor Managers who are responsible for managing our IT suppliers, whilst delivering important commercial outcomes for NFU Mutual. As a Senior IT Vendor Manager, you will offer a strategic approach to Vendor Management, bringing new ideas and your governance knowledge. Using your financial expertise, you will manage and build budgets, working closely with your team to provide excellent financial outcomes.
Ensuring you get the best out of your team is vital in this role. You will lead, manage, motivate, and develop your direct reports so that they know what is expected, are able to maximise their contribution to business objectives, and realise their potential. You will provide coaching and mentoring, helping them to increase their knowledge and maximise the team’s skill base.
Managing medium to large scale contracts is another vital component of the role. You will negotiate and agree terms and conditions and contractual obligations with suppliers, delivering value and cost savings that meet business requirements and deliver the best commercial outcomes for all parties.
You’ll be an expert in governance and controls, ensuring compliance with our policies, standards and regulatory requirements whilst aligning with our long-term objectives and IT strategy. You will define, implement, monitor, and act on relationship and contract governance, designed to deliver effective escalation processes, control, and mitigation of risk, meeting business, audit, and regulatory requirements.
£67,000 - £80,000 salary (depending on experience)

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of managing teams of Vendor Management Specialists. You will be able to demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a record of developing your direct reports. You will also have significant successful experience of negotiating and managing contract life cycles at a senior level within a technology and/or outsourced IT environment.
You will also have:
Deep market knowledge in two or more IT categories, including applications management, hardware, software, service, and communication with a broad knowledge across all IT categories.
Demonstrable experience of effective stakeholder and relationship management at senior level as well as with multiple vendors, legal and procurement functions.
Strong specialist knowledge of procurement and vendor management practices, including experience of the tender lifecycle, contracting trends, licensing models and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance models.
