About the role:Crime and Counter Terrorism Investigations Services (CCTIS) is a specialist area within Victoria Police that works with partner agencies to investigate, disrupt and mitigate the risk of terrorism and politically motivated violence in Victoria.The first Senior Analyst position is at the Strategic Coordination Unit (SCU). The SCU provides forward looking advice to decision makers at CCTIS on national security threats and related matters from a Victorian perspective. The successful applicant will be working as part of a team producing intelligence products and high-level reports in support of investigations, operations and the strategic direction of Counter Terrorism. Working closely with other intelligence staff in a dynamic environment, Senior Analysts have the opportunity to participate in training and exercises to expand their skills and support organisational emergency response capabilities.The second Senior Analyst role is positioned in the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit of the Counter Terrorism Command. Reporting to a Sergeant, you will be responsible for the holistic collation, evaluation and analysis of a broad range of sensitive information and intelligence on behalf of the unit. As a Senior Analyst you will be required to regularly liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, maintain a sound understanding of the current CT environment and produce varied written reports.Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.Your duties will include: Development of intelligence products relating to the local and international terrorism environment.Undertaking the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis and controlled dissemination of information.Monitor internal and external intelligence and information sources, both open and closed.Liaise with and develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Maintain comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of the terrorist threat environment, at a local, regional and global level.Provide immediate intelligence support in response to terrorism-related incidents.Compile high level reports and intelligence products, for management, government and the Office of the Chief Commissioner, which clearly and accurately identity trends and issues and which articulate high quality recommendations.Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of intelligence information processes especially related to contemporary CT trends.Utilise a variety of computer systems and applications to collect, manage, maintain and deliver intelligence and information to the work unit and the broader command.Collate statistical data for compliance reports.About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: A demonstrated interest in intelligence and counter terrorism.Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders.Proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results.The ability to work well under pressure to strict deadlines.Ability to work in a dynamic, small team environment of both sworn and VPS employees.Be self-motivated, and be able to successfully work both autonomously and within a team environment.Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to synthesise large amounts of data and information.Qualifications in international relations and/or criminal intelligence practice are favourably regarded.Relevant qualification desirable: Intelligence course.Further Information:Two (2) x full-time, fixed-term positions available (1x 12 months from commencement (SCU) and 1x until 30-Jun-2027 (CVE)).These positions will be located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
