Vulcain Engineering Group seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for their Qatar branch to perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed design for oil and gas projects.

Responsibilities
- Perform conceptual, FEED, Studies, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
- Interface with all disciplines to develop clash free designs
- Prepare Discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications
- Review vendor and subcontractor submittals for compliance with project specifications
- Provide technical direction and review of Designers producing products related to Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
- Assist in preparation of estimates for bid proposals
- Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and offshore site surveys
- Guide less experienced engineers on client and Discipline procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical, or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (Master Degree is Preferred)
- 8 15 years in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
- Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications
- Good knowledge of engineering software
- Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written
- Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society

Position Overview
- Vulcain Engineering is a group specialized in the energy sector supporting companies in Renewable & Nuclear Energy, Gas & Infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for our branch in Qatar.
Primary Functions
- Perform conceptual, FEED, Studies, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards.
- Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non standard situations.
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
- Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets.
- Clearly communicate and explain complex issues.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Be fully familiar with project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter discipline requirements.
- Identify changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications.
- Interface with all disciplines to develop clash free designs.
- Maintain close co ordination with other engineering disciplines, Planning, Fabrication, and Project Management Team.
- Assist in preparation of estimates for bid proposals.
- Prepare Discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications.
- Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables.
- Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and offshore site surveys.
- Provide technical direction and review of Designers producing products related to Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.
- Prepare and review design reports and procedures.
- Assist procurement personnel in procuring Discipline equipment, materials and services.
- Check engineering performed by others within Discipline.
Tasks as Lead Engineer
- Works as Lead Engineer on small projects or acting as area lead or deputy lead.
- Has full responsibility for all engineering work on small size projects.
- Has full control and manages work hours, materials, progress.
- Coordinates with project management.
- Assists Project Manager in preparing deliverable control, schedule, progress reports, and man hour and capital expenditure estimates.
- Is responsible for filing of engineering work.
Other Expectations
- Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society.
- Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications.
- Good knowledge of engineering software.
- Able to work independently.
- Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
- HSE, TQM and cost conscious.
