We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Risk Manager to join a new high-profile Insider Risk function responsible for understanding, assessing and helping to reduce insider-driven risk across the organisation.
This role sits at the intersection of Security, Privacy, Payments, Fraud, Technology, People, Legal and other critical control functions, providing a unique enterprise-wide view of organisational risk exposure.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the businesses insider risk landscape, bringing together data, intelligence, risk indicators and control information to identify emerging threats, vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will help shape the strategic direction of insider risk management, ensuring risks are understood, prioritised and effectively managed.
The role combines leadership with hands-on risk management.
You will be accountable for transforming complex data into meaningful insights, influencing decision-making at senior levels, and driving improvements that strengthen organisational resilience, protect customers and colleagues, and support safe and sustainable business growth.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of data-led risk management practices, the ability to operate across multiple risk disciplines, and the confidence to challenge, influence and collaborate with senior leaders across a complex stakeholder environment.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term opportunity.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible.
More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working.
We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub.
We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our London, Swindon or Glasgow site approximately once per month.
If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office.
If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.
If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
