At BAE Systems we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Infrared Optical Test Engineer with experience supporting circuit card assemblies and modules.
As a Senior Infrared Optical Test Engineer in this position, the candidate would be responsible for production testing of IR and optical modules and circuit card assemblies.
This position is first shift on a 9/80 work schedule This position may include the following activities:
• Design and maintain test processes, work instructions, routes, and assembly documentation.
• Identify and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) that impact test processes.
• Support test-related factory safety, ergonomics, 7S, and environmental compliance through assessments and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) and process qualification plans (PQP).
• Train operators, technicians, and junior engineers and provide daily technical support on process execution and issue resolution.
• Create drawings for, and procure, fixtures, tools, and test aids.
• Perform validations on test equipment.
• Drive equipment moves and factory transitions, coordinating MEP needs and production readiness.
• Drive root cause investigations and lead implementation of corrective and preventive actions (RCCA).
• Oversee capital projects and manage procurement activities for test resources.
• Lead / support Transition to Production (site relocations and NPI) efforts in the factory.
• Represent the test team in audits, CAB meetings, and customer engagements.
