About the role
Ali & Sons Contracting is seeking a Senior HSE Officer for a UAE construction project.
The role supports implementation of project HSE requirements, safe working practices, site inspections, HSE records, and incident investigations.
The stated work location is in person.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and monitor project-specific HSE requirements and procedures.
- Conduct regular and random site inspections and maintain inspection records.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project HSE requirements.
- Maintain safety statistics and HSE-related documentation.
- Support safe systems of work and completion of risk assessments.
- Monitor correct use of personal protective equipment, tools, and equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and other HSE concerns.
- Report and support investigation of work-related incidents.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Promote housekeeping standards and coordinate toolbox talk programs.
- Support compliance with applicable HSE legal and regulatory requirements.
- Stop unsafe work when necessary and communicate with project stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of HSE experience, preferably within construction.
- Secondary or university-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, HSE, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- ISO HSE-related training, including ISO 14001, ISO 18001, and/or ISO 45001.
- Relevant authority registration as required in the Emirate.
- Strong knowledge of construction HSE practices, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
