Senior General Ledger Accountant
For SSMC Hospital - Sheikh Shakhbout Hospital, Abu Dhabi
We are looking for an experienced **Senior General Ledger Accountant** to manage and oversee general ledger operations, monthly closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a large organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review general ledger transactions and journal entries
- Oversee monthly close activities and preparation of trial balances
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and clear suspense accounts
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and investigate variances
- Coordinate with AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue teams
- Support internal and external audits and liaise with banks when required
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Supervise day‑to‑day accounting activities and support junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office; ERP experience is an advantage
- Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc.) are a plus
- Experience in a large healthcare facility is preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Arabic language skills are an advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
