Housecall is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for its healthcare technology products.
The engineer will design, build, deploy, and operate patient-facing and administrative healthcare features.
The team follows a You Build It, You Ship It culture with ownership through production and monitoring.
What you will do
- Build and maintain full stack applications using PHP, Laravel, Vue, React, TypeScript, and MySQL.
- Design and integrate REST and FHIR APIs.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering on solution design and product ideation.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while validating correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and prevent AI-generated hallucinations from reaching production.
- Build automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and support production systems.
- Participate in incident reviews and post-mortems to improve reliability.
- Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and contribute to engineering culture.
Experience requirements
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least one year of AI-augmented software engineering experience.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
- Experience owning software through deployment and production operations.
- Cloud platform experience, preferably Azure.
Technical skills
- PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, React, TypeScript, and MySQL.
- REST APIs, FHIR, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and application security.
- Containerization such as Docker.
- Object-oriented programming, SOLID or GRASP principles, and design patterns.
- Clean, maintainable, and testable code practices.
Nice to have
- Healthcare domain experience.
- FHIR integration experience.
