Project coordination
- Coordinate daily delivery of backend, frontend, and mobile app projects across distributed teams.
- Track tasks, sprints, and deadlines and follow up to ensure work is completed on time and to specification.
- Identify blockers and delays, escalate risks, and drive resolution.
- Provide structured progress updates to the Head of Projects.
- Assist with sprint planning, task breakdown, estimation, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate iOS and Android developers alongside web development streams.
- Participate in client meetings, provide technical updates, clarify requirements, and communicate in English.
Development and technical leadership
- Act as the senior Laravel developer and technical lead for the backend team.
- Solve technical problems through debugging, architecture guidance, and code direction.
- Review code quality, enforce standards, and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
- Contribute to Laravel backends and React, Vue, or HTML frontends when needed.
- Ensure APIs and backends support connected iOS and Android mobile applications.
Required skills and experience
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience with strong Laravel and PHP depth.
- Frontend experience with React.js and/or Vue.js, plus HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, MySQL, Git, and deployment workflows.
- Working knowledge of iOS and Android mobile development lifecycles for coordination and API review.
- At least 2 years coordinating or leading development projects.
- Experience working with distributed or offshore teams.
- Excellent spoken and written English for client-facing meetings.
- Strong ownership and proactive follow-through.
Preferred experience
- Experience with Jira, ClickUp, Asana, Trello, or similar project management tools is preferred.
- Exposure to WordPress or Shopify projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and cPanel, AWS, or similar server management is advantageous.
- Digital agency experience with multiple concurrent client projects is advantageous.
Work arrangement
- Work from the office is required five days per week, Monday through Friday.
- Working hours may include overlap with Australian business hours for client and team meetings.
Success measures
Projects remain on schedule, with blockers surfaced and resolved before causing delays.
The Head of Projects has an accurate, current view of every project status.
Developers are supported quickly, code quality remains high, and client communication is clear and professional.
