In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the future of Emerson’s customer facing digital engineering applications.
You will use your years of technical expertise and a proven understanding of the cloud- native software domain to help us build industry -leading digital engineering software applications.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Design, develop and implement new applications and improvements to existing ones using TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React, Cosmos DB, RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines and other relevant technologies.
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of the features, modules, and services you deliver across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance within your team, contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, and mentor junior engineers on soun d design principles and development practices.
- Participate in architectural discussions and help shape the overall technical direction of digital applications, advocating for best practic es and innovative solutions.
- Optimize software performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks via monitoring, logging, and metrics to enhance the user experience.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other development teams, non-technical partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of client-side applications, automating and enhancing build, test, and deployment processes.
- Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high quality code and alignment to coding standards.

For This Role, You Will Need
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on large-scale cloud- native web applications.
- Strong technical expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, HTML, and CSS, with hands-on experience using Cosmos DB or a comparable NoSQL database.
- Experience in designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Experience with modern software development practices, version control systems, agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery, etc.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on a major cloud platform (Azure preferred), including containerization and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with automated testing at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels, and with secure coding practices.
That Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or a related engineering degree.
- Development experience in Python, Postgres and Django Framework will be a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, possessing the ability to work independently or collaboratively to analyze and address complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and those in non-technical roles.
