Responsibilities
- Perform risk based reviews of monthly contractor invoices for compliance with contractual payment terms and project agreements.
- Develop and maintain procedures, templates, checklists, and documentation standards for contract compliance reviews.
- Prepare monthly reports summarizing compliance findings, trends, and recommended corrective actions.
- Provide financial analysis to support project budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and performance reporting.
- Perform day to day corporate accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close support.
- Support ERP implementation by participating in finance focused testing activities and documenting issues.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation related to new system workflows.
Requirements
- CPA designation (Canada) in good standing
- Minimum 2+ years of post designation experience
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience in audit, contract compliance, project finance, ERP implementations, or Oracle Fusion ERP (preferred)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Acceptable current criminal record check

Overview
- Reporting to the Director, Finance Major Projects, the Senior Financial Analyst provides project finance, contract compliance, and financial reporting support for major projects, and supports corporate accounting activities and process improvement during the ERP transition.
Key Accountabilities
- Performs risk based reviews of monthly contractor invoices to assess compliance with contractual payment terms and project agreements.
- Develops and maintains procedures, templates, checklists, working papers, and documentation standards to support consistent contract compliance reviews.
- Prepares clear, concise monthly reports that summarize compliance findings, trends, and recommended corrective actions for Finance and Commercial leadership.
- Communicates findings to project and commercial stakeholders and supports resolution of identified issues.
- Provides financial analysis to support project budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and performance reporting.
- Identifies opportunities to refine and enhance existing internal controls and payment processes within the major project environment.
- Supports other project finance and contract compliance activities as required over the life of the project.
- Performs day to day corporate accounting activities, such as preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for month end close.
- Supports the ERP implementation by participating in finance focused testing activities, executing defined test scenarios, and reviewing results.
- Identifies and documents issues encountered during testing and provides user focused feedback on process and reporting changes.
- Contributes to process improvements and documentation related to new system workflows.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (Canada) in good standing with a minimum of 2+ years of post designation experience.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Excel with experience in generating professional level analysis.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in audit, contract compliance, project finance, ERP implementations and/or working with Oracle Fusion ERP.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Offer conditional upon completion of an acceptable current criminal record check.
Salary Range
- The salary range for this position is CAD 83,000 to CAD 114,000 per year.
- Final offer determined based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
